Sentence Seeds

Victoria tapped her foot impatiently against the tiled floor, watching as the workers walked back and forth, carrying the furniture from their truck and into the house. She wasn't even in the stage of directing them where to put the things, and it already took them so much time.

"Are you done yet?" she asked, staring at the clock, fidgeting slightly. She had to prepare dinner soon if she wanted everything to go according to plan, and she couldn't just go to the kitchen while those men were still around in her living room.

"There, this is the last," one of the men said as he put an end table into the living room. "So where do you want us to put these, ma'am?"

"Here's a layout," Victoria said as she handed them a piece of paper. "I wrote everything you need to know there. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me."

"Vicky!" a voice called and the owner barreled into the newly-painted house. The smell of paint and plaster was still so fresh that it was almost suffocating. "Why didn't you tell me you were just moving? I could help!"

"I hired these men for a reason, you know," Victoria said in annoyance. "But if you want to help them out, sure, be my guest."
